Rajiv Lochan

As the MD and CEO of Sundaram Finance Ltd., Rajiv drives its overall strategy & execution for the lending business and provides oversight for the home finance, asset management and general insurance businesses. Prior to Sundaram Finance, he was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of The Hindu Group.

In addition to serving on the board of Prodapt, Rajiv is an Independent Director at Lifestyle India Private Limited, a privately held retail group.

Earlier, Rajiv was a Partner with McKinsey & Company, where he co-founded the Chennai practice and led the financial services sector and social sector practices. He also worked at American Express in New York.

Rajiv holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from IIT Madras, a Master’s in Transportation degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, and an MA and MBA from the Columbia Business School, New York.

Rajiv lives in Chennai with his wife, Prof. Preeti Aghalayam, a professor at the IIT Madras and Director-in-charge of IIT Madras Zanzibar, his daughter, Vichar Lochan, and his mother.
